Entry Level Planning Position Open

MIDAS Council of Governments, a six-county regional planning agency in northwest Iowa seeks qualified applicants for an entry-level Planner position.  This position is responsible for grant writing and administration, compliance reports, plan development, technical assistance and administrative services to member cities and counties.

 

Applicants must be able to work with multiple task assignments and meet established deadlines. Applicants should have a working knowledge of ArcGIS as well as familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel. The position requires travel and night meetings. 

 

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Community and Regional Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a similar field of study.  A valid Iowa driver’s license is required.  Beginning salary is $37,868.  Applicants are encouraged to apply by 12:00 PM on August 18, 2017 but the position will be opened until filled.  Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, resume and references to: Shirley Helgevold, MIDAS Council of Governments, shelgevold@midascog.net.  MIDAS is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/AA)

 

JULY 2017 MIDAS EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

The July 2017 MIDAS Executive Board Meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26th at the Northwest Bank Building in downtown Fort Dodge.  

The Finance and Management Committee will meet at 4:30 pm at MIDAS Council of Governments (602 1st Ave S). The Planning and Transit Committees will meet at 4:30 pm at the Northwest Bank Building (723 1st Ave S).

JUNE 2017 MIDAS EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

The June 2017 MIDAS Executive Board Meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28th at Rustix, 716 Sumner Avenue South, Humboldt, Iowa.  

There will be no subcommittee meetings this month.

REGION V REGIONAL PLANNING AFFILIATION


PUBLIC INPUT MEETING


 The Region V Regional Planning Affiliation (RPA) will hold a public input meeting on the amended FY 2018-2021 Regional Transportation Improvement Program (2018-2021 RTIP). 


 

The RTIP is a document produced annually that  identifies all transportation projects member governments of the Region V RPA plan to implement using federal funds over the next four years.  Region V includes the following counties: Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Webster and Wright and the cities within these counties.


 The amended FY 2018-2021 RTIP is available on the MIDAS website http://www.midascog.net or by contacting Shirley Helgevold at MIDAS Council of Governments, (515) 576-7183 ext. 212 or e-mail at shelgevold@midascog.net.


Written comments should be received by July 20, 2017 at 12:00 PM.  Please submit all written comments to: Region V Regional Planning Affiliation, 602 1st Avenue South, Fort Dodge, IA  50501, or e-mail to shelgevold@midascog.net.

Iowa's Medicaid Program Updates & Transition Presentation

On September 25, 2015, MIDAS coordinated a meeting with a representative from IME to discuss Iowa’s Medicaid Initiative. This initiative will impact every service provider who is reimbursed for services from Iowa Medicaid, and there have been many unanswered questions about those impacts. 

A copy of the Medicaid presentation from the meeting is attached for your reference.
